This is one cake I had seen many times in a food group on Facebook and always wanted to try my hands on baking it. With my son’s arrival and his private monthly birthday celebrations that we do each month gives me a glorious opportunity to get hands working and kitchen messy! But trust me when my small but sweet family is happy to see the final product I am on the seventh heaven.
Earlier on Riaan, my son’s 4th month birthday I had tried to make this cake but had failed terribly. So this time I was all pumped up to make this cake a skillful reality. After 2 hours of sincere work, I finally had this success story to proudly pass on to you my lovely readers. By the way, I referred to the recipe given on www.goodtoknow.co.uk website.
If you too want to bake this cake here’s my tried and tested recipe, read on..

After the orange cake is baked well, refrigerate it to cool fast.

- Now remove from the mold Orange Cake and using the heart shape cutter cut out heart-shaped pieces of orange cake. Aim to get at least 10 or 12 heart shaped pieces.
- In the same bread shape mold line, the heart-shaped pieces in the middle starting from one end to the other end of the tin.
- Meanwhile again preheat the oven at 180 degrees. Now once the orange hearts are all stacked up in the middle, pour in the chocolate batter from the sides and also pour some on the top of Orange hearts.
- After the tin setting is over, load the mold in the oven to bake for at least 30 minutes or so.
- Cool the cake and enjoy.
