Have you ever had a dream of travelling into the space..? So here’s a movie that gives you a notion of being in space and how adventurous it can be..sometimes!
Gravity (2013) is basically a two actor (yes you heard me right), 90 minutes movie which has been cleverly shot and almost perfectly executed to give its audience a real-time feel of the world beyond earth.
The highlights of the movie are its 3D & Space effects; but the real hero of the movie are the chain of events unfolding in the movie that grips audience’s attention. Slow pace of the movie at certain places in my opinion was a weak point. I would have enjoyed more if there was a bigger role of George Clooney. Overall a good sci-fi movie to watch this season.
The Story:
The movie revolves around Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock), a Bio-Medical Engineer and an astronaut, Matt Kowalski (Georger Clooney), working on their space mission. During their final spacewalk a warning is issued of upcoming debris and their mission needs to be aborted. Despite this warning, their space shuttle is hit & shattered by the debris in which only Dr. Ryan & Matt become the sole survivors.
Next seen is the quest to reach another space shuttle so that the two astronauts can return safely to earth. Where although both manage to reach the shuttle, Matt has to let go his life in order to save Dr. Ryan’s.
When left alone in space Dr. Ryan fights for her survival in which at one point she decides to commit suicide but a hallucination of Matt returning back & giving her an idea to drive the space shuttle gets her back into the game of survival. Eventually she manages to beat all the odds against her survival and crashes on earth, to give us ‘one hell of a story’!
