Rakhi is nearing, so how are your preparations for this brother-sister festival going on? Have you purchased a beautiful Rakhi for your brother and pondered upon an ethnic attire that you will be wearing on that day? Well, the beauty of Indian culture and traditions is such that even people of foreign origin are not able to resist it. One of the reasons behind this is the way we Indians celebrate all the festival with such jubilation, it doesn’t matter in which part of the world we are!
Talking about celebrating festivals and not talking about ethnic wear of women especially ‘Sarees’ is a crime! But some would say left and right draping are so clichéd. So presenting here are few novel ways which are inspired from Bollywood Celebrities and will give the conventional 9 yard a chic fashion twist!
DHOTI Style Saree:
This type of sari draping bagged limelight when Sonam Kapoor wore this in a party. It was also seen in a fashion show where famous designer Tarun Tahiliani’s collection was showcased. It is one drape that gives saree a true Indo-western avatar. All you need to do is give the usually worn under-skirt (petticoat) a ditch and instead wear leggings under the saree.
Half Drape Saree with Pant:
Sonam wore this half drape saree flaunting her legging and stunned the fashion world with the charm of it. I guess she had worn a Khadi silk saree with a front zipped bright red embroidered blouse.
Deepika Padukone fame Saree Drape:
This style instantly gained fame when Deepika Padukone wore a saree draped in this way for a song Badtameez Dil from the movie Ye Jawaani Hai Dewani.. It is a fashionable go-to-party drape perfect to flaunt those curves.
Traditional Lehenga Drape:
Oh! so you want to play safe and be traditional yet look like a diva then this drape is best for you. With the same saree and same set of blouse and petticoat, you can now have a stylish look. Here’s my post for Draping a Lehenga Style Sari.
