Try This Quick Tip to Remove Tough Stains to Make Your Kitchen Clean

Remove tough stains with Cif Kitchen Cleaner

“Restaurant food might be tastier than home-cooked food but home-cooked food is far healthier!” This dialogue I guess every mother tells about outside food, isn’t it? While the chefs & the home-makers may continue to debate about the healthy and the tasty aspects of their respective foods, I would like to declare my support to one. No points in guessing as donning a mom, home baker and a halwai’s cap (yes I’m…big-time halwai…ask my adosis & padosis about it also check some recipes I have shared here) my support will always go to home-cooked food.

Having said this, as a travel enthusiast, I do like to eat out, try new restaurants and explore the local cuisine of places I travel. In my opinion, the taste of food usually differs with the person cooking it. However, for ensuring that food cooked is healthy by & large every household has its set of rules and processes.

Because I love to cook, I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and can spot greasy stains, spots and grime easily. I feel to remove tough stains in the kitchen is a cumbersome task so even I go by some do’s & don’ts in my kitchen.

How to ensure food cooked is healthy at home?

In my opinion, for cooking healthy food at home or even in professional kitchens like restaurants etc. it is important to consider the following two points:

Cooking with Fresh Ingredients & Exercising Moderation

The quality of ingredients used to cook a dish can actually be the deal-breaker from both taste and health perspectives. Using apt & fresh ingredients in the right amount is the key to cooking a delicious meal.

Keeping the kitchen clean

A clean kitchen is a prerequisite for cooking healthy food. The kitchen free from dust, stains, food spillage, and traces of grease due to oil usage in cooking can be said to be in the best condition. Food prepared in such a kitchen is healthier than in a messed-up place.

Why is it necessary to keep the kitchen clean?
Why is it necessary to keep the kitchen clean?

Why is it necessary to keep the kitchen clean?

  • Set a great first impression

‘Har ghar kuch kehta’ these lines speak volumes about the impression a home can leave on the guests about those inhabiting it. A clean kitchen is a symbol of how well a household is managed. In fact, why just guests, even kids can be taught cleanliness lessons, by the way, you maintain a clean kitchen. Perhaps, parents can encourage kids to participate in cleaning the kitchen like dusting and helping in organizing while elders can take up the job to remove tough stains.

  • Control those unwanted pests

Ants, cockroaches, mice, grain weevils and more can easily make your kitchen their home. The key to getting rid of these pests is to store the various food items in air-tight containers and clean the slabs and storage shelves regularly.

  • Maintain  hygiene

As mentioned earlier, I believe Hygiene = Health. So it is best to remove food that has passed its best before/use by date. Also, foul-smelling, rotten food should be discarded immediately. Consuming this kind of food has adverse effects on health and also is a great invitation to pests.

  • A clean kitchen is a safe kitchen

If one does not remove tough stains of oils then it can go on building upon the kitchen countertops and chimney sleeves. Excess oil build-up has the potential to cause fire accidents in the kitchen.

  • Ensure the longevity of appliances

From your indispensable electrical appliances like refrigerator & juicer-mixer-grinder to OTG, in every kitchen, many electronic and electrical appliances are used daily. Habitually cleaning these appliances at proper intervals can not only give all of the above benefits but also can increase the life of appliances.

5 Areas in the kitchen that you must regularly clean

  • Kitchen countertop

In my kitchen, the countertop is the place where the main action takes place. I am sure at your home too this is the place where you must be doing a majority of the cooking. This is why; the countertop is forever prone to food debris, spillage of liquids, and oil accumulation. Not cleaning it regularly while continuously using it can result in difficulty to remove tough stains, fungus and more.

  • Burners

While the countertop takes away most of the attention when it comes to kitchen cleaning but gas burners placed on the stoves are arguably the most missed out area. I have a built-in hob and honestly, I hate myself every time I see the burners. I feel annoyed at myself for not knowing how to remove tough stains and cleaning the burners correctly earlier when the gas stove was new. Now, these have tough blackish charred stains thanks to repeated exposure to food & oil and the surprise milk overflow.

  • Chimney filter plates

Again an often neglected area of the kitchen is the ‘chimney’. Apart from bi-yearly or annual professional cleaning of chimney, washing chimney plates often is the best way to prevent oil smoke, soot and grease collection.

  • Microwave- Convection – Grill

While baking cakes or preparing pizza many times the food pops on the base glass tray of the convection – grill and the sides. The use of baking soda with a cup of water is often suggested and I did try it out in different concentrations but then it only proved to be effective for a very light level of cleaning.

  • Kitchen wall tiles & shelves

Steam from pressure cooker to splashes of hot oil, kitchen wall tiles is subjected to all of this. While kitchen shelves contain food ingredients that can lead to fungus formation, stains of different coloured ingredients like turmeric and more. For both these areas, I tried cleaning using baking soda and also tried cleaning with warm dishwashing liquid. Honestly, either my baking soda was not good enough or the use of it as a cleaning agent is overhyped as I didn’t get the desired result at all. Cleaning with dishwashing liquid did give me little results but the effort required for scrubbing was exhausting and I didn’t get any solution to remove tough stains though.

Quick tip to remove tough stains and get 100% shining kitchen

As a travel & food enthusiast, I like to try new dishes while travelling and then I like to come back and recreate the dish at home. From sweet Waffle to Motichoor Ladoo I make it all and like to share out the tried and tested recipes in this very blog. So for me having a clean kitchen holds far more significance.

A clean kitchen adds oodles of aesthetic value to food photographs. But while doing so I prefer the cleaning process to be quick and effective. Earlier I used to stand for hours and wash my stove & kitchen walls using dishwashing detergent with hot water. But it didn’t give me a satisfactory result moreover the process itself was cumbersome. This is when my brother who had just returned from a European onsite project told me about Cif. He told me how even his wife used to clean the kitchen back in Europe so easily with Cif power and shine kitchen cleaner.
